We foal in less than 10 weeks....

We eagerly anticipate our first New Zealand foal to arrive in less than 10 weeks...  Options could conceivably foal any day from 8th August onwards.

It sure has been a while since last I held a newborn foal, and I count my lucky stars and prayers that I will soon be able to do so!!

We have, along with other "American Gaited" breeders in New Zealand, been invited to an interview by the local Horse & Pony magazine!  How privileged we are indeed!  Keep an eye on your September issue of Horse & Pony and read all about the wonderful world of gaited horses!

Arrival @ our new Home

We've arrived in our new country on Wednesday and it's been a few busy weeks.  Unpacking the endless amount of boxes and finding the right place for everything....

The horses haven't traveled too well, have lost a lot of condition and it would appear that Options is in season.  Finding the right "mix" of feed wasn't easy, but I've got it down to a fine art now, the horses are enjoying their feed and hopefully will gain some weight soon.

We had hoped to enter Duke into the Stallion Parade on September 13th, but the condition he's in and the fact that our tack is in quarantine for another 3 weeks, kind of made it clear that we will have to put any showing out of our mind for the rest of the year!  Bummer!!

So, for now the horses will enjoy the lush green grass of Canterbury and just settle down into a routine until such time as their condition has improved drastically and we can finally start with some work again.
